With the Squad having brought the Black Vault sphere containing General Zod back to Belle Reve, Waller has her scientists studying it in the hopes that she can gain control of Zod and make him a member of the team. Flag does not believe this is a good idea. Hack joins the Squad, and Harcourt seeks the data from the Russian base that Hack has downloaded into her brain.

Waller debriefs Hack, and learns the story of how she and her brother grew up in a poor African neighborhood. Her brother joined a local gang and died as a result. When Zalika gained her ability to transform herself or others into pure data, she was inspired by the example of Harley Quinn to become a super-villain and to seek revenge on those responsible for her brother's death.
