Suicide Squad
Suicide Squad [Killer Croc [Waylon Jones]; Katana [Tatsu Yamashiro]; Captain Boomerang [George "Digger" Harkness]; Harley Quinn [Harleen Quinzel]; El Diablo [Chato Santana]; Deadshot [Floyd Lawton]; Enchantress [June Moone]]; the original Suicide Squad [Task Force X] [Karin Grace; Rick Flag Sr.]; Argent (extra-terrestrial); Argent robots; Red Wave Monster [The Beast from the Red Wave] (image on screen); Amanda Waller; Suicide Suits (Amanda Waller's armored troops)
On an Argent space satellite, Katana, Harley, Boomerang, and Croc meet Rick Flag Sr. and Karin Grace, the surviving members of the original Task Force X. Flag tries to recruit the Squad to travel to the Moon to face the Red Wave Monster, a menace that was defeated by the original Task Force X decades ago and imprisoned in a secret prison inside the Moon. Meanwhile, Deadshot, El Diablo, and Enchantress are attacked by robots at an abandoned Argent air base in Nevada.

Rick Flag Sr. is the grandfather of Rick Flag, the late former leader of the current version of the Suicide Squad.

Argent is the name of a sister agency to the original Suicide Squad, which is part of Task Force X, and also the name Rick Flag Sr. and Karin Grace have given to an extra-terrestrial that is on their team.

The original Task Force X faced the Red Wave Monster on their first mission in The Brave and the Bold (DC, 1955 series) #25. In that issue it was referred to as the Beast from the Red Wave, and it was left in orbit around the sun. Presumably later it was retrieved and imprisoned on the Moon.

Continues the history of Task Force X from the book written by Faraday and found by the current Suicide Squad in King for a Day Part 1 in issue #27.

When Faraday meets the original Suicide Squad, they have Starro as a captive. The original Suicide Squad first appeared in The Brave and the Bold (DC, 1955 series) #25, pre-dating the Justice League of America who first appeared and fought Starro in The Brave and the Bold #28. It seems the original Suicide Squad may have encountered Starro, or a Starro, before the JLA.
