Cover is an homage to the cover of Suicide Squad (DC, 1987 series) #1 by Howard Chaykin. The cover is signed "Eddy Barrows after Chaykin". It uses the same caption as the 1987 issue "These 8 people will put their lives on the line for our country. One of them won't be coming home!" but features headshots of current Suicide Squad members.

A would be super-hero turned minor super villain, Juan Soria, who is serving time in Belle Reve, is chosen to go on a mission with the Suicide Squad. Juan quickly realizes that he and his fellow recruits are expendable as they investigate an alien ship that has landed in Orlando that is populated with alien wasp monsters and other deadly life forms.
