This was the cast of "The Huckleberry Hound Show" (sans Boo Boo Bear) during the years 1958-1960. It would change over the years, losing Yogi Bear (to his own show), Pixie, Dixie, and Mr. Jinks, and gaining Hokey Wolf (1960) and Yakky Doodle (1965).

The first 8 ½ pages of this story is an adaptation (though not exactly a strict one, as some beats are missed and others added) of the Huckleberry Hound TV cartoon “Hokum Smokum” (1958), written by the character’s creator Joe Barbera. The final 2 ½ pages consist of a “tack-on” plot concerning the flooding of the Indian camp, stylistically the product of prolific Dell and Gold Key scripter Vic Lockman, making this an odd hybrid of a story.

Great moment: When Yogi touts a mighty oak "that has stood on this spot for thousands of years", a gust of desert wind blows down the cardboard prop. Skeptical visitor: “Ha! What do you say to that?” Yogi (quickly regaining his composure): “Er, ahem… TIM-BER!”

Not an actual adaptation of a Huckleberry Hound television cartoon, but an original story with gag-elements taken or otherwise adapted from such Hound cartoons as “Dragon-Slayer Huck” (1958), “Tricky Trapper” (1958), “Somebody’s Lion” (1959), and “Knight School” (1959). At times, just as they would in a cartoon, both Huck and the dragon address the audience (readers). Possible script or lettering error: In the first line (transcribed above) the dragon is described as a "fire-eating dragon". Should it have been "fire-breathing dragon"?
