Some dialogue remains the same, although the newspaper strip features Archie in the role instead of Betty. The Fluteweed name and character design is also taken from the newspaper strip and appears prototypical of Professor Flutesnoot, who began appearing in the newspaper strip later in 1948 and was already established as a character by the time this issue was published, although he had yet to appear officially by name in the comic books.
