Synopsis:
When their plane makes an emergency landing for fuel line repairs on a caravan road in northern Nigeria, the Martins become the captives of hostile nomadic Muslims who believe the family and their plane have brought sickness upon their Emir. Should the Emir die, the Martins will be murdered. Paul thinks the Emir has contracted blackwater fever, a complication of malaria, and sends Lassie racing through dangerous desert territory to retrieve a medicine kit from the plane. When the Emir is treated and recovers, the Martins are freed.
