Lassie
Lassie; Timmy; Ruth Martin; Paul Martin; Shakou (witch doctor); Ram Singh (shopkeeper in Unshi); Villagers; Hippopotamus; Crocodile
In the village of Gelwa, Ruth publicly embarrasses a witch doctor on the docks when she urges him to use sanitary methods selling and dispensing his goat milk. In retaliation for his humiliation, the witch doctor sabotages a rickety bridge the Martins must cross as they return to the village from a gift-buying trip to Unshi. The bridge holds until the Martins cross, but the witch doctor stumbles between a hippopotamus and a crocodile in his confusion and only escapes the danger with Lassie's help. Ruth presents the witch doctor with a new aluminum pail, ladle, paper cups, and stool.
