Industrialist Theo Zappa devises a way to steal all the plankton on Earth in order to sell it to the planet Kalyarna, which has destroyed its own ecosystem with pollution. Aquaman alerts the League to the situation and the heroes split up into teams to stop Zappa from dooming Earth to starvation.
