Synopsis:
Helen is lawyer George’s secretary and girlfriend. She wants him to become wealthy and influential but he prefers to serve the clients who need him the most. Helen tricks political boss Manell into offering George work, over George’s objections. She then convinces Manell to put up George for state senator, guaranteeing George will “take suggestions” from the boss. But after George is elected, Manell demands he withdraw a slum clearance bill. George refuses and breaks up with Helen. She records Manell confessing and George takes her back.
