Green Hornet IV [Paul Reid]; Britt Reid II; Kato II
The future: An older Paul Reid easily defends himself against a mugger, reminding himself of earlier days. "The nasty nineties": The City is plagued by a new serial killer called the Street Sweeper, and the Green Hornet is looking for him alone. He finds him, getting stabbed in the shoulder in the resultant fight. A witness assumes that HE is the killer and alerts the police. Meanwhile, a delayed Kato arrives at Hornet HQ to find that Britt had assumed that the pair were out together, and the two hear a police radio call about the situation. With Britt providing transportation to the area then, as publisher of the Daily Sentinel, distracting the cops, Kato finds the Black Beauty. With it, he draws the police out of the area while Britt looks for the Hornet, who manages to overcome the real Sweeper and leave him for the authorities with incriminating evidence. Taken back to Reid Manor by Britt, Paul faces an "awfully cranky" Kato.
