Disclose Notes: Cover code: 90129-209.

Publication date is derived from the last three digits of the cover code (209 = September, 1972). On sale date (month and year) is derived from the issue code appearing in the bottom tier of page one (726 = June, 1972).

The stories in this issue were previously credited to Vic Lockman, but display none of Lockman's "trademark alliteration", nor few (if any) of his regular tropes. Given the greater humor-quotient than in typical Lockman stories, and that The Beagle Boys are characterized as they were in their two appearances in The Phantom Blot (Western, 1964 Series) #3 and #6 that were written by Bob Ogle, Ogle gets the call as the issue's writer.

The title, "The Dime From Uncle" is a nod to the TV spy series "The Man From U.N.C.L.E.", which was extremely popular at the time of this story's original publication in 1965. Of course, "Uncle" in our title refers to Uncle Scrooge.
