Earliest appearance of Pop Tate resembling his current character model. Previous appearances depicted Tate as a skinny, older man with gray hair and a mustache. Here, he is taller, heavyset, and bald. Bob Montana would use this model in Tate's earliest known newspaper strip appearance on May 2, 1950. Both models would be seen interchangeably in Archie stories as this model was phased in.
