Synopsis: Sharpe saves a city mayor trapped in a fake bomb vest from being shot on live TV by a sniper. Then Sharpe and Cooper drive to North Caroline where bad things have been happening to jilted husbands when their brides disappear shortly before their wedding day. There have also been mysterious "ghost lights" which some people think is connected to the missing brides. Sharpe and Sheriff Conrad go to talk to the most recent jilted groom, only to find he has committed suicide.
