Disclose Notes: Part of Marvel's Flashback month, this is one of the few issues that was a true one-shot and not connected to an ongoing series.

This issue is considered issue #57 in "Venom" Legacy [LGY] numbering.

"Venom (2018)" #35/200 has a feature on the 200 covers of Venom, and indicates Marvel has rethought the legacy numbering for Venom. This title and "Venom Super Special" #1 were not included, but "Venom: Sign of the Boss" #1-2 were.

Story is done in the style of an old school monster comic; Stan Lee in his intro refers to himself as the "Script-Keeper" and claims the story is from "The Vault of Unknown Creatures Unleashed."
Cal Carlchok is an homage to Carl Kolchak, the Night Stalker.
