Four hundred years ago, with the coming of the first Phantom, most old tribal beliefs and superstitions vanished forever from the Bengali Jungle.
In a once a 50 year ceremony the Valuga receive the statue of their god Tianger from the Phantom's protection. But this time the Idol is a fake, and the Phantom needs to find out how and why. In the chronicles he discovers a clue from the records of the last ceremony.

Asked to guard the Uangar's precious Black Pearl as it goes to being displayed at Banoon's Great International Pearl Exhibition, the Phantom agrees. But the pirates still succeed in stealing it, and the Phantom plans to take them down as he recovers it.
