Archie is preparing to box against Reggie for the right to take Veronica to the Frosh Hop. Jughead convinces Archie to spar against Moose, with Moose pretending to get knocked out. Moose has an exposed nerve on his elbow and the slightest contact makes him pass out. Archie happens to hit that elbow during their fight and Moose is really knocked out. Reggie decides not to box, but Archie thinks he really knocked out Moose, so he chooses to fight anyway. Reggie knocks him out and feels confident enough to take on Moose, but that doesn't work out.

Jughead's uncle Herman brags about a supposed appendectomy he once performed using a rusty pocket knife. Jughead dismisses the tall tale and heads to the hospital where Betty is interning. While he waits for her, he falls asleep and dreams that slipping on the floor and falling leads to an emergency appendectomy to be performed by Uncle Herman. Betty wakes him and he slips on the floor just as he dreamed. When she says his uncle can have him in the examining room in two minutes, Jughead runs away. Betty steps into the elevator where Uncle Herman is the elevator operator.

Midge assumes Archie did it to spend time with her and as she kisses him, Moose sees and proceeds to stuff Archie into the cannon in front of the school.

Jughead sells stock in himself, but when Mr. Weatherbee says the students had better get a profit, Jughead seeks advice from Mr. Lodge. Mr. Lodge leaves Jughead in the office. Jughead takes a phone call and tells the broker to sell. He panics and calls the broker back telling him to buy. Mr. Lodge kicks him out over the fiasco, but Mr. Lodge finds out he has made a profit of three million dollars from the transactions. Mr. Lodge buys all the shares in Jughead for ten dollars a share, so all the gang made money.
