Helen agrees to do extra typing to earn money for her upcoming marriage to Bob, but doesn’t tell him about it. The next day, her name is listed as one of those caught in a gambling club raid. Bob and Helen’s parents are shocked, despite her denials. Helen’s mother Nell was actually involved but gave the police Helen’s name. Helen quits her job and moves away due to the scandal. She goes to work for J.D., who takes her to a hotel and forces his way into her room. J.D. is caught by the house detective and Helen meets Bob, who now knows she was unjustly accused earlier. Selena Towers Walsh; John Walsh; Tom Walsh; Fred Watkins; Eddie Chason; Mrs. Watkins
Selena marries John, although he has already demonstrated a capacity for jealous violence against her other boyfriends. His constant suspicions cause her to threaten to leave him, but he begs her to stay, and they have a son. Four years later, John’s actions finally result in a divorce. Selena dates co-worker Eddie, and John sees them together, but is calm because he’s a changed man. Selena decides to go back to John, but he shows up first and begs her “forgiveness for being a jealous fool.” They reconcile.
