Jean enjoys herself with Eileen’s fast crowd and dates Bert, then learns she only inherited $100. Bert and Eileen both dump her. Jean returns to her old job and reconciles with Rick.

Marge and Al fall in love, but break up when she refuses to marry a man who has to constantly travel for his work: Marge’s father’s job caused his family to lead a nomadic experience in Marge's youth and she wants security now. Marge marries Fred instead: he has a steady job and leads a settled existence. However, Marge grows bored and Fred insists she become a stay-at-home wife. When Al reappears, Marge tells Fred she loves Al and wants a divorce. However, Al says he doesn’t love Marge anymore, and she’s left alone.

Typist Kay decides to go to Miami Beach on vacation and find a husband. She meets Peter on the train but when they arrive at the hotel, employee Steve warns her that Peter is a “two-week Romeo.” Peter and Steve compete for her affections, but Kay later spots Peter romancing another guest and goes home heartbroken. She gets a letter from Peter and meets him at the hotel the following year, expecting a marriage proposal. When he demurs, she slaps him and decides to marry honest Steve.
