He meets up with Maria, who he knew from his previous trip, and asks her to dance with him for the tourists. Lulu, the voodoo priestess, warns him of "The Black Widow", a new sorceress on the island who's an "evil beetch". Coley saves Kit and Lon from a shark, almost at the cost of his own life.

In front of her followers, The Black Widow has her way with Coley, intending to kill him when she's finished. But Coley's voodoo powers come into play, and turn the tables fatally. After most of her followers have fled, one of his kidnappers frees Coley rather than killing him and the two of them wind up going at it while Lon and Darryl watch. Later, Harry's very aware of how much killing anybody upsets Coley. But Coley finds that Kit intends to leave him, feeling she can't handle his lifestyle anymore. He begs her to stick around just long enough to see a voodoo ritual.

Coley Cochran; Benchley (Coley's dog); Chuck (gate man, off-camera); Sammy O'Hara (video cameraman); Jennifer Collins (photo-journalist, Playthings magazine); Father Jerry Donelson; Father O'Brien; Police Chief Tanner; Officer Jack
Jennifer Collins & Sammy O'Hara visit Coley for an interview, photo & video session. After a long talk, Jenny wants to do an entire book devoted to Coley. He poses and performs for her, on the beach, and to a crowd of onlookers. After, he takes her for a wild, dangerous ride on his bike, winding up at a church. He makes it with her in view of young priest Jerry Donelson, who's he's having an affair with. Coley hates organized religion, and can't stand the idea of being in love with a priest. But Jerry doesn't want to lose Coley, and the two go at it right on the altar. Jealous, Jenny points the older Father O'Brien at the scene, and outraged, he insists Jerry leave the church. But, completely distraught, Jerry hangs himself. Coley sets fire to the church and tears off down the road with Jenny just as the police are coming. He takes the wrong road, where a bridge is down, and winds up crashing into a small canyon.

Coley Cochran; Officer Jack; Chief Tanner; Jennifer Collins; unnamed chauffer; Kit Cameron; Garth (descendant of Shub Niggurath); Dirk
Coley & Jenny survive the crash, but Coley is almost beaten to death by Officer Jack. Tanner later releases him, saying Father O'Brien cleared him of any charges. Coley accepts the invitation of Garth, who reveals he blackmailed the priest into dropping the charges. Coley, Kit & Jenny spend time at Darkcliff, the same place Coley was almost killed a year earlier, which Garth has bought & restored. Following several days of relaxing, intrigue and sex (between Coley & Jenny, Coley & Kit, Kit & Jenny, and Coley & Dirk), Coley discovers what's really going on. Garth, a half-human descendant of Shub Niggurath, an "elder god", is determined to open a dimensional doorway for their return-- by sacrificing Coley! Jenny is killed, but once again Coley's hypnotic voodoo powers prevail. Tanner, who's learned the truth about what happened at O'Brien's church, tells Coley he wants him to leave town and never come back. Coley assures Kit, who now loves Coley deeply, that she hasn't seen the last of him.

Part 2 of 2. H.P. Lovecraft tribute, with several elements similar to those in "THE DUNWICH HORROR". Several events of this story also mirror those seen in the earlier Coley story, "BREATHLESS" (see COLEY #[3] / John Blackburn, 1991). While this is common with sequels (especially in the movies), this may also partly be because when it this was done, "BREATHLESS" was only available as a limited-edition book, read by very few fans. Next appearance in MEATMEN #15 (Leyland Publications, 1993), then WEB OF EVIL #1 (Eros, November 1993), reprinted in COLEY RUNNING WILD: Book Two: Caged Heat (Eros, August 1997).
