Atom Smasher (Nuklon) [Albert Rothstein]; Black Canary [Dinah Lance]; Flash [Jay Garrick]; Hawkgirl [Kendra Saunders]; Hourman (android, 1,000,000 A.D.); Sand [Sandy Hawkins]; Sandman [Wesley Dodds] (death); Green Lantern (Sentinel) [Alan Scott]; Star-Spangled Kid [Courtney Whitmore]; Starman [Jack Knight]; Ted Knight; Wildcat [Ted Grant]; Wonder Woman [Hyppolyta]; Gray Man (death); Speed Saunders; Scarab (death); Mordru (villain)
Mordru, as an agent of Chaos, begins to attack magic-based heroes tied into Fate's legacy, so as to learn the whereabouts of the new Fate about to appear, so he can absorb his magicks for himself and make himself more powerful than ever. He attempts to get the information from Sandman, but fails when Sandman commits suicide by falling off a cliff to his death. The information, however, is forwarded to his former ward, Sandy Hawkins, in a dream as he sees his mentor dying. He then takes up his mentor's role as Sand, and begins to gather a new JSA together from that information.
