Rom turns up in Times Square and begins to vaporize people. Super pimp, Solace, hires Luke and Danny to track down Rom as the robot killed one of his working girls. The Heroes for Hire are then contacted by Reed Richards, who is really a Dire Wraith in disguise, and told that Rom is a killer alien robot. Power Man and Iron Fist track down and battle Rom but only succeed in destroying his jet pack. When they realize Rom isn't really trying to hurt them and once the whole Dire Wraith infestation is explained, they decide to help Rom hook up with the Fantastic Four.
