Boston Globe reporter Benson sees a connection with amazing thefts of metal and begins an investigation. Elsewhere, the great Raymond tells the JSA that he went to an exhibit at Gotham Island to expose so-called men of gold as frauds, but discovered they WERE made of gold. The Gold Men followed him, knocked him out, put him in a crate and dumped him in the river. Having escaped, he takes the JSA to the exhibit, where they confront the Gold Men, and battle them unsuccessfully. The Gold Men then board the Caterpillar ride, which spins dizzily, and when it stops, the Gold Men are gone!
