Kidnapped by the Decepticons, "Sparkplug" Witwicky is forced to assist them in converting standard Earth power sources into usable fuel. Optimus Prime and his Autobots return to the Ark after their defeat to repair and restock. Optimus selects Gears for a scouting mission to determine whether rescue is a possibility for Buster's father. Along the way, Gears runs into none other than Spider-Man, who assists Gears in inflitrating the Decepticon base and recovering "Sparkplug". It isn't until "Sparkplug" is back safe in the Ark that the Autobots discover he was able to help the Decepticons with their fuel problem after all.
