Captain Dirk Cutlass
Tom Clark of the Shipowners' Association is wounded by a gang of ship wreckers and then shot while telling his story to Dirk. Dirk pursues the man named as ringleadder —Jan Hawke, a respected innkeeper. He mistakenly seeks help from local Justice of the Peace, Sir Nigel Seton, who is also involved. While locked up, his crew helps stop the gang and Dirk escapes to capture Sir Nigel and secure the appreciation of the shipowners.
