This story retells the Dr. Fate story from More Fun Comics (DC, 1936 series) #63 and the Spectre story from More Fun Comics (DC, 1936 series) #60 (though with several alterations). Scoop Scanlon had his own series that appeared in the first 13 issues of Action Comics (DC, 1938 series) and in New York World's Fair (DC, 1939 series) #1.
