Benedict; Lawrence St. George; Julia Adler; Oakum McGrew; Daphne Dumont
"Until the daybreak, and the shadows flee away"
Benedict and a jib-bic do battle. The next morning, St. George is visited in his home, by Benedict — who fears the return of "Gooseflesh". Benedict masquerades as St. George due to the bizarre creature now growing on the filmmaker's head. Investigating at Julia Adler's house, Benedict is attacked by disembodied hands, then finds an unsettled Sunset and the spirit of of silent-screen star Daphne Dumont. The ghost tells of how her husband, Oakum McGrew, framed her for his murder; a zombified McGrew then attacks Benedict.

Carnacki, The Ghost-Finder
Carnacki, The Ghost-Finder
Carnacki investigates a spirit. The manifestation is far more powerful than he expects, and he spends the night in his electric pentacle while an apparition in the form of a giant human hand pounds at his defenses. The next day, Carnacki finds the fabled "luck ring", and he brings it with him into the pentacle. This proves unwise, as when night falls the vicious entity pours from the ring itself and is inside the pentacle with Carnacki. He ends the haunting by melting down the ring within his protective barrier.
