Frank Packer created Consolidated Press Ltd in January 1936, based on the Telegraph and the Australian Women's Weekly. The company was reformed as Consolidated Press Holdings Ltd in 1954 and then Australian Consolidated Press Ltd (ACP) in 1957. The company continues to operate as the magazine publishing division of Nine Entertainment Co, a major Australian media and entertainment company. ACP acquired K. G. Murray in 1974, although it continued to publish the comics under Murray-related branding.
