Alard (a peasant); The Black Knight; Robber Baron (villain)
During the 14th Century, Europe was split into hundreds of kingdoms, each ruled by Lords in armor, a real set-up for trouble. The problem was: when one of the Lords decided to take on and ruin one of his contemporaries, the ones who really suffered were the serfs or peasants. The peasants, however, hoped that their "Black Knight" would show up to save the day. And when he finally did show up, the peasants found out he was no better than their enemy, the Robber Baron.
