The plot is highly reminiscent of the two-part GREEN HORNET TV episode, "Beautiful Dreamer"; while most versions of this property attribute the invention of the Hornet Gas to Kato, dialogue here expressly credits it to Reid; Casey Case's real first name, Lenore, is not used in this issue; last previous comic appearance of the Green Hornet was in Four Color (Dell, 1942 series) #496, September 1953. Although Paul Newman wrote the 1953 Green Hornet story there is no reason to believe he wrote the 1967 issues.
