Golfer Jeanne is jealous of her widowed father Doug’s relationship with old flame Johanna. Jeanne is courted by photographer Jeff, who says he’s assigned to do a photo-story on her. Jeanne, angered by her father’s engagement, goes out on her own. During a big tournament, Jeanne sees her father, Johanna, and Jeff and realizes she’s been selfish. She loses the match but reconciles with Jeff and the others.

Apprentice seamstress Rita romances middle-aged designer Jorreau and becomes his personal aide. Jorreau is married but promises to wed Rita when he’s free. Mrs. Jorreau warns Rita that her husband will just use and discard her. Rita is romanced by young designer Don, who’s actually Jorreau’s son, teaching his father a lesson. Jorreau divorces his wife but Rita realizes he’s unhappy and convinces Mrs. Jorreau to take him back. Don thanks Rita and says he really loved her and if they’d met in another way, they might have had a future together.

Dorothy King [Jane White]; Aunt Mae; Rick Pocker; Jay; Charlie; Sheriff; Jay's mother
Orphaned Dorothy lives with her Aunt Mae in “an underprivileged area” of the city. She dates Rick, a criminal, and is involved in a robbery. They split up and Dorothy gets a ride with farmer Jay. Jay and his mother hire her to work on their chicken farm. The police arrive but Jay defends Dorothy and she realizes they love each other. Dorothy meets Rick to tell him she’s through, but he forces her to accompany him. Dorothy causes the car to wreck and they’re caught. Dorothy is released in Jay and his mother’s custody.
