Newlyweds Richard and Sylvia meet a strange man on the beach, who writes "July 10 1958" in the sand and runs away. Sylvia is killed in a traffic accident the next day, July 10, 1958, while Richard is thrown free. Richard finds the strange man on the beach, where he has written Oct 9 1994. Richard swims out to sea but is rescued by a fishing boat. When he revives, a doctor tells him that he's a lucky man.

Dr. James Parker was attacked by a flock of quetzals, then blacked out for three days. A quetzal stayed with him and willingly went back to America. Parker's hair turned solid white. The quetzal died two days after Parker sold him to the collector.

Zero, the Ghost Detective, and Nancy take a fishing trip on the ship of Captain Gore, Nancy's uncle. Zero discovers Captain Gore quarreling with a ghost on deck at night. Nancy reveals that Captain Gore was accused of killing the ship's former captain. The ghost pulls Captain Gore overboard. The ship's crew decide that Zero and Nancy are jinxes. Captain Gore tries to drag the ship onto some rocks. Zero stops him with a disintegrator, and the crew thanks him.
