Sylvia is killed in a traffic accident the next day, July 10, 1958, while Richard is thrown free. Richard finds the strange man on the beach, where he has written Oct 9 1994. Richard swims out to sea but is rescued by a fishing boat. When he revives, a doctor tells him that he's a lucky man.

Nancy reveals that Captain Gore was accused of killing the ship's former captain. The ghost pulls Captain Gore overboard. The ship's crew decide that Zero and Nancy are jinxes. Captain Gore tries to drag the ship onto some rocks. Zero stops him with a disintegrator, and the crew thanks him.
