An old classmate of Mr. Rich, the absent-minded Professor Phineas Potts, introduces Richie to his son, also named Phineas. The Professor can't remember why he came to see Mr. Rich, so Mr. Rich asks Richie to take Phineas to school with him. There Phineas impresses everyone with his intellect and athleticism. When they return from school, Richie tells his father and the Professor what a big hit Phineas was in school, but the Professor says he doesn't have a son. He then remembers the reason he cme to talk to Mr. Rich - Phineas is a prototype robot that he wanted to show to Mr. Rich.
