Dot's Uncle Drowsy comes to visit for his vacation. Dot finds him sleeping in an armchair and is determined to wake him up so that he doesn't waste his whole vacation sleeping. She tries several tactics to wake him, including making him a peppy sports shirt and playing rock music. But each time, her efforts only succeed in making him even drowsier. She finally decides to bake some ginger cookies, hoping the spice will perk him up. The cookies do the trick, and Uncle Drowsy is ready to go out and have fun, but by this time Dot has worked so hard to waken him that she is drowsy herself.

One of the inhabitants of that planet tells him that since he has discovered them, he can never return home. He does indeed return home, and manages to bring back a small piece of evidence from his trip, but decides to stick to easy chemistry experiments in the future.
