Polly wears a pirate hat identical to that of Yosemite Sam, though no connection to Sam is indicated in the story.

This story, and all others in the issue, does not exhibit the “Early Gold Key style”, exemplified by such design elements as rectangular dialogue balloons, borderless panels or panels bordered by pastel-colored rectangles, and backgrounds splashed-over in a single color. In mid-1963, many such elements would still be the norm, indicating that these stories may have been leftover Dell inventory.
