Irona helps Richie escape from a playhouse being swept over a waterfall by improvising wings. Superio, realizing that the disaster is his fault tries to hide by burrowing into a mountain. When Richie and Irona start to dig him out, Superio burrows through to the other side and falls into the bog on the other side. Irona pulls him out, and Superio begs for forgiveness, which Irona quickly grants. Later, Richie commends Superio's feat of burrowing through a mountain of iron to his father.

Richie Rich; Richard Rich; two unnamed crooks
To Richie's surprise, Mr. Rich nervously cautions Richie against using a fly swatter that he is holding. In explanation, they take the swatter out on the estate grounds, where Mr. Rich demonstrates that the swatter instantly destroys anything it swats. Richie tries it on boulders and trees with results impressive enough to catch the attention of two crooks hiding nearby. At gunpoint, they take the swatter from Richie and his father and drive away.

Richie Rich
Richie Rich; Richard Rich; two unnamed crooks
Having stolen a powerfully destructive fly-swatter, two crooks lead Richie and his father on a high speed car chase. The crooks try to shoot out the tires on Mr. Rich's car, but thanks to a couple of useful gadgets Richie's father had previously installed, the bullets don't slow them down. The more dimwitted of the crooks uses the fly-swatter in ways that foil their own plans, ultimately leading to their capture. As a result of the incident, Mr. Rich decides not to put the destructive swatter on the market.
