Synopsis: Ingrid’s elderly father has a heart attack trying to tear down a wall that rich Simon Lessingham built in an attempt to force them to sell their cottage and land to him. Edwin, Simon’s son, tries to make amends to Ingrid and her father. Edwin and Ingrid fall in love. Her father opposes the match but eventually changes his mind. Edwin buys Ingrid’s house before his father can, and says she and her father can continue to live there. He hopes someday he and Ingrid will also live there, as man and wife.
