With St. John came a company of actual Terrytoons animators, writers, and directors – including Tom Morrison, Connie Rasinski, Art Bartsch, Carlo Vinci, and Jim Tyer – to give the stories a completely different look and feel, from the Terry comics produced by Timely. A look more accurate to Terry concepts and character designs.

While this issue would largely present stories based (to varying degrees) on existing Mighty Mouse theatrical animated shorts, a well-defined continuity would soon be created for Mighty Mouse featuring regular friends (Mitzi Mouse, Professor Edam) and recurring foes (The Claw, Professor Ohm), leading to a solid series of adventure stories for the Mouse of Tomorrow.

The on-sale date is from the publication date recorded in the Catalog of Copyright Entries, Third Series, Vol. 2, Part 2, No. 1, Periodicals, January-June 1948.

This story is a comic book adaptation of the 1947 Mighty Mouse theatrical animated short "Crying Wolf", directed by Connie Rasinski, but omitting certain elements of the cartoon for presumed brevity.

In the comic, Duke the sheepdog is drawn by Art Bartsch to look exactly like a gray-colored version of "Dimwit", Heckle and Jeckle's regular patsy. The dog in the cartoon is similarly drawn, but is colored tan.

It's been a long time since I visited Storyland.
Visiting Storyland, a kingdom in the clouds, Mighty Mouse saves Little Red Riding Hood from the unwanted advances of a Zoot suited wolf - by literally punching the wolf out of his Zoot suit. Now unhip and unclad, the wolf turns his attentions toward chasing the Three Little Pigs - but Mighty Mouse saves their bacon as well.
