Crossover with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, several characters and elements of which began life as a parody / tribute to Frank Miller's run on Daredevil, including The Hand (ninja clan); The Headhunter serves double-duty as a tribute to both Elektra (from Daredevil) and Lady Shiva (DC villainess / assassin romantically linked with Arsenal (formerly Speedy, Green Arrow's teenage sidekick)).

This story takes place before Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Mirage, 1984 series) #1. It ties in with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Image, 1996 series) #9, which was published in the same month as this issue. According to the Big Bang Comics web site, that issue is a sequel which "takes place 10 or 15 years later".
