The Justice Machine [Blazer; Titan; Demon; Diviner; Talisman; Challenger]; The Guardians [Big Brain; Night Lightning; Phaser; Monolith; Crusader; Malefactor; the Hunk]
The Machiners regroup and decide to return to Earth, but they need to find the Dimensional Transporter to get there. They split up in groups of two to search the facility for the Transporter only to be defeated in battle and captured by the Guardians. The Guardians are another group of super-humans, the new replacements for the outlawed Justice Machine. Only Talisman escapes capture. The Guardians replaced Challenger at one point prior to the group splitting up, and that aided in the Machiners' defeat.

The Justice Machine [Blazer; Titan; Demon; Diviner; Talisman; Challenger]; The Guardians [Big Brain; Night Lightning; Phaser; Monolith [Ivan] (dies in this story); Crusader; Malefactor; the Hunk]
Talisman breaks the Machiners out of their "unbreakable" dome by throwing the only thing heavy around-- himself, screaming all the way down. The freed Machiners --fighting at full strength-- battle and defeat the Guardians, find the Transporter, and escape to Earth. The Machiners also have the Transporter self-destruct after they leave, ensuring no one else will use it.
