Synopsis: Newspaper reporter Ellen has a crush on romance novelist Vance, although when she meets him she is surprised he says some of things he does about women. They fall in love, but Ellen discovers Vance's books have all been ghostwritten by Julia. When Ellen reads Vance's newest book, she finds that he described their love affair, and angrily writes an exposé. Julia says that Vance wrote his latest novel himself because he loves Ellen. Ellen fears her review has ruined everything, but her editor changed the story completely. Vance and Ellen will be married.

Ellen runs away and wrecks her car. She is taken in by Jeff and his mother and stays on their farm. Ellen and Jeff fall in love, but she leaves so they won't be involved in the scandal. Ellen changes her mind and goes back. Jeff and his mother say they knew who she was all the time. Ellen also learns she will inherit her fortune after all.

When he realizes it was Susan driving, John breaks their engagement. She loses her insurance due to the accident. Fortunately, Bull has passed the bar exam and Susan will marry him.
