Carla tells Alicia’s boyfriend Eddie and they crash into the apartment, only to discover Alicia and Dick were preparing a surprise birthday party for Carla. Alicia moves out and Dick breaks up with Carla. A grateful patient gives Carla a check for $5000 but instead of using as “an escape hatch from a lonely existence that had become unbearable,” she donates it to medical research. Dick learns of this and takes Carla back.

With Vince gone, Amy’s father decides to sell the farm. He returns and introduces Amy to the new owner: Vince. Amy and Vince will be married.
