Kid Colt stumbles into a feud between farmers and cattlemen. Refusing to help out the farmers, Colt attempts to leave but is captured by mercenaries that have been hired by the Cattlemen's Association. Wainwright attempts to recruit Colt but he refuses and decides to join up with the farmers. Tom abandons his father, Silas, and joins with the farmers because he's in love with Lydia. Blackie tries to kill Tom for attempting to stop the fight and Colt kills Blackie. The farmers and the ranchers make peace with each other.

Dan gives up gun-slinging to marry Martha. Upon moving to new land to start their life together, Dan and Martha are confronted by Craig Moaby. Craig, having declared himself "boss" of the territory, demands "rent" from them and calls Dan yellow for not carrying guns. Martha realizes that guns are needed for protection in the west and returns Dan's to him. Dan defeats Craig and Gila when they return.
