Eureka! It works!
Professor Keenbean has patented the solution to the gasoline shortage during the time: a special car with four bare feet instead of wheels. But when it hits a pothole, they decide to visit a podiatrist, who bandages the bare feet. Then Richie decides to visit the shoe store, and wants size 60 shoes, which is impossible. Richie improvises by purchasing the signs to four of the shoe stores in Richville and the foot-mobile runs more smoothly.

Richie offers to lead a hike for little girls camping on the Rich estate, since Gloria was busy with piano lessons. But Gloria's piano teacher fell ill, and was available to lead the hike. Richie learned that Mayda was already leading the hike, and Richie and Gloria had to catch up to them. Mayda encounter obstacles along the way, including gold nuggets and diamonds, bees, and a swamp, before making it to the destination.
