Mel Torme tells dancer Pat, upset by her boyfriend, the story of Gloria and John: Gloria and John fell in love, but Gloria became suspicious of John’s actions, discovering he has a gun among other things. She believed he's a “dope peddler!" and broke up with him. However, Gloria decided to give John a chance to clear himself, then learned he was an undercover FBI agent. They reconciled. Pat’s boyfriend also comes back.

When the Korean War breaks out, Michael enlists, over the objections of his girlfriend Eve. She becomes a war correspondent to “see how a flag can separate lovers!” Eve changes her opinions and wins awards for her work, “trying to make the whole world understand…” Meanwhile, Michael repeatedly risks his life in battle, believing Eve doesn’t love him, but they are reunited and he leads a major offensive, “fighting for peace…AND for the woman who loves me!”

Cindy’s widowed mother is transferred to work in the lower-class “Creek” neighbourhood and Cindy has to change schools as a result. Cindy dates Duke, the leader of a local school gang, but is shocked when she learns she’s expected to slip Duke weapons before a rumble. The brawl is “the most revolting picture” Cindy has ever seen, and her disabled friend Alice is accidentally shot by Duke. Cindy breaks away from the gang and goes back to her decent boyfriend Tom.

When Duke’s zip gun is mentioned, there is a caption containing an *"Editor’s Note: An unlawful weapon—-a home made gun. The two foregoing scenes depict an evil authorities at last have wiped out—-teen age gang molls.”

Freshman Betty-Jo dates college football star Hack, but fears he is involved in a betting ring. She tells the dean and Hack doesn’t start in the big game. However, he returns in the second half and his team wins. Betty-Jo learns that Hack was working undercover to expose the gamblers, and that’s why he acted suspiciously. Hack and Betty-Jo are reunited.
