The Destructor
The Destructor [Jay Hunter] (origin, 1st appearance); Slaymaster (1st appearance, off-panel death); Max Raven (1st appearance, apparent death); Dr. Simon Hunter (1st appearance, death)
Would-be youthful gangster Jay Hunter is targeted by mobster Max Raven for seeing something he shouldn't have. Jay, arguing with his scientist father and belittling him for working on a super-serum, is shot, along with his father, by a Raven henchman. Jay's father gives him the serum with his dying breath, allowing Jay to recover from his bullet wounds. Realizing his father's serum worked after all, Jay follows a path of retribution against the man who killed his father.
