After 8 years of marriage, Hal asks Eve for a divorce, saying he’s “met someone else.” He moves out. When her cousin Velma arrives for a visit, Eve says Hal’s away. Velma convinces Eve to go on a double date, and they spot Hal with a woman in the restaurant. Learning the truth, Velma introduces Joe, an oilman, to Hal’s date Jean. Hal sees Jean is no good and realises he really cares about Eve. He and Eve reconcile.

Mary leaves her small town and her boyfriend Andy behind and becomes a model in the big city. She finds her neighbour Matt interesting, but is shocked to see a woman leaving his apartment early in the morning. From then on, Mary gives Matt the cold shoulder. When Andy visits and makes improper advances to her, Mary is rescued by Matt who then introduces her to his invalid mother. The woman Mary saw leaving the apartment was the older woman’s doctor. Mary decides she trusts Matt enough to marry him.

Iris is married to club golf pro Ken, who spends a lot of time with woman golfer Jerry. Iris begins an affair with Dave, and bribes young caddy Tommy to ruin Ken’s chances in a big golf match: if Ken plays poorly and loses his job, he’ll leave town and Iris can stay with Dave. Tommy double-crosses Iris and Ken wins. Dave, who lost money betting against Ken, calls Iris “a cheap two-timer” and dumps her. Iris confesses all to Ken and suggests they try again. She also offers to adopt Tommy and make it a real family.
