Jo Ann is humiliated when her father is involved in a business scandal. She gets a job with lawyer Claymore over her father’s objections. Although she is attracted to her father’s co-worker Bob, an ex-Marine, she doesn’t think he has a future and makes a play for Claymore’s wastrel son Randy instead. Jo Ann, who had argued with her father and Bob, learns the Claymores framed her father for a highway construction accident and were also behind his previous problems. She arranges to have her father cleared but is too ashamed to apologise to her father and Bob. “Perhaps someday.”

Department store personnel manager Daily listens to the sad story of employee Marcia. Marcia dated law student Al but her fellow worker Sandra convinced her to attend the Shawnee Country Club dance to meet rich young men. Marcia was introduced to Jerry, who saw through her pose because he is a salesman doing the same thing as she was: pretending to be rich in hopes of finding a wealthy mate. Marcia realised Al is the man she loves, but Al discovered what she did and broke up with her. Mr. Daily advises Marcia to admit her error and ask Al to take her back.

Rod takes photos of a gambling raid and sees Joe was there: to protect Betty, he claims none of the pictures came out, and is fired as a result. Betty learns for herself that Joe is the gambling ringleader, and is rescued by Rod and the police. Betty and Rod get married.
