Synopsis:
Artist Jean’s career is managed by his girlfriend Paulette, who forbids him to paint portraits and insists he only do landscapes and still lifes. Jean paints a portrait of a young woman from his imagination but Paulette is sure Claudia, who runs a small art gallery, was his model. Claudia introduces Paul to impressionism and Paulette breaks up with him as a result. Jean and Claudia fall in love. Meanwhile, Paulette has a new protege, Henri, and forbids him to paint portraits.
