At a new school, Adam takes an interest in her but she lies to him about her background, fearing he may drop her if the truth is known. She says she's wealthy Mrs. Easton's grandaughter. He knows she is not because he is Mrs. Easton's grandson. He dates her, falls in love, and proposes. They plan marriage after graduation and his service in the armed forces.
