After an editorial dispute over work-for-hire contracts, McGregor left Marvel and this story was credited (perhaps falsely) to editor Richard Marschall instead (although Marschall does acknowledge McGregor, not as the script writer, but as the story’s author on the introductory text page elsewhere in the issue). Given the then-prevalent practice at Marvel of an artist drawing a story from a written plot, followed by a writer scripting from penciled pages, it may be possible to reconcile the competing claims by assuming that McGregor plotted the story, and that Marschall wrote the script.
