Compilation of daily newspaper comic strips from December 12, 1940 through December 8, 1941. Notable story arcs include: the Garsons impersonate the Yokums; Salomey predicts the future; the McSwines pursue Li'l Abner as a husband; Eric Travers loses his sight; Daisy Mae agrees to marry him, but he recovers; a professor drains Abner's rare blood; Mammy and Pappy search Manhattan for their boy; Li'l Abner portrays super-hero the Flying Avenger; Big Stanislouse believes the Flying Avenger is real; Dogpatchers send Li'l Abner to raise a thousand dollars; Li'l Abner escapes on Sadie Hawkins Day. The Flying Avenger sequence satirizes the radio show The Adventures Of Superman, which debuted the previous year.
